Person killed in 18-wheeler crash on I-45 NB before Cypresswood, HCSO says; all lanes reopened

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- A deadly crash along a portion of the North Freeway led to significant delays Tuesday morning.

According to Houston TranStar, the wreck was reported at 5 a.m. on I-45 North northbound at Parramatta Lane.

Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said the incident involved a pickup truck and an 18-wheeler. The sheriff also confirmed one person had died.

At one point, TranStar images showed the northbound lanes of the freeway completely shut down just before Cypresswood. At about 8 a.m., some lanes had reopened, and the crash appeared to be cleared by 11 a.m.

It's unclear what led up to the crash.
